Shopify migration
and 2.0 upgrades

Migrations don’t usually fail on the data — they fail on the details most agencies skip. URLs change and rankings vanish, order history goes missing, and integrations quietly break the week after launch. Our Shopify migration services treat the move as a project, not a data export: every old URL mapped to its new home, every order and customer carried across, every integration rebuilt and tested before you go live.

We migrate to Shopify from WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce, PrestaShop, OpenCart, Wix, Squarespace, Salesforce Commerce Cloud or a fully custom platform — and we upgrade legacy Shopify stores to Online Store 2.0. Fixed pricing, no surprise costs, and a team that’s still here after launch: we build it, run it and answer when you message.

What’s in scope

What a Shopify migration includes

  1. Full data migration

Products, variants, collections, customers and complete order history transferred with their integrity intact, not a lossy CSV dump.

  2. URL mapping and 301 redirects for every page

Every old URL mapped to its new Shopify equivalent before launch, so you migrate to Shopify without losing rankings.

  3. Metadata and on-page SEO preserved

Titles, meta descriptions, H1s and image alt text carried across, structured data rebuilt.

  4. Integrations rebuilt

ERP, CRM, accounting, fulfilment, email and analytics reconnected and tested, not left to break post-launch.

  5. Theme build or 2.0 upgrade

A new store or a legacy Shopify to Online Store 2.0 upgrade with editable sections.

  6. Zero-downtime cutover and post-launch monitoring

Staged and tested so customers never see a broken store, then watched in Search Console for the weeks that matter.

The differentiator

The part most agencies skip — redirect mapping

This is where migrations lose traffic. Shopify enforces its own URL structure — /products/, /collections/, /pages/, /blogs/ — so your URLs will change, whether you plan for it or not. Every old address needs a 301 redirect to its exact new equivalent, with no redirect chains and nothing left pointing at a dead page.

We crawl your entire current site, build a complete old-to-new URL map, implement the 301 redirects, resubmit your sitemap, and monitor Google Search Console after launch to catch anything that slips. It’s unglamorous work, and it’s the single biggest reason a migration keeps its rankings instead of losing them.

  • Full site crawl
  • Old-to-new URL map
  • 301 redirects
  • No redirect chains
  • Sitemap resubmission
  • Search Console monitoring

Already on Shopify

Legacy Shopify? The Online Store 2.0 upgrade

Already on Shopify but on an old theme? A Shopify 2.0 upgrade moves you to Online Store 2.0 — editable sections on every page, faster load, better structured data and a store your team can actually update without a developer. We upgrade the theme, preserve your content and URLs, and hand it back cleaner than we found it.

  • Editable sections on every page
  • Faster load
  • Better structured data
  • Updates without a developer
Who this is for

Three situations we’re built for

Merchants leaving another platform

WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce or custom — who can’t afford to lose search traffic in the move.

Stores on outdated Shopify themes

That need the Online Store 2.0 upgrade to get editable sections and better performance.

Anyone who already migrated and lost rankings

We run redirect and SEO recovery audits to win the traffic back.

The process

How the migration works

  1. 01

    Discovery & URL crawl

We map your full catalogue, integrations and every existing URL.

  2. 02

    Migration plan

A fixed-scope, fixed-price plan with the redirect map and data scope agreed up front.

  3. 03

    Build & data transfer

Store built, data migrated, integrations rebuilt on a staging site.

  4. 04

    Test & 301 redirects

Redirects implemented, on-page SEO checked, everything tested against real orders.

  5. 05

    Zero-downtime launch & monitoring

Cutover with no downtime, sitemap resubmitted, Search Console watched for weeks after.

Shopify migration — FAQ

The questions merchants ask before they move

How do I migrate to Shopify without losing SEO?

Crawl every existing URL, map each one to its new Shopify address, and implement 301 redirects before launch. Preserve titles, meta descriptions and H1s, rebuild structured data, resubmit your sitemap, and monitor Search Console after cutover. Done properly, rankings hold; skipped, they drop.

Will migrating to Shopify hurt my rankings?

There can be a short-term dip, but with complete 301 redirects and preserved metadata most stores recover within weeks. Ranking loss comes from missing redirects and lost on-page SEO — both preventable — not from Shopify itself.

Do I have to change my URLs when I move to Shopify?

Yes. Shopify enforces /products/, /collections/, /pages/ and /blogs/ prefixes, so URLs change. That’s exactly why a complete old-to-new redirect map is non-negotiable — every old link needs a 301 to its new equivalent.

How long does a Shopify migration take?

It depends on catalogue size and integrations. A small store can move in a couple of weeks; a large catalogue with custom integrations takes longer. We give you a fixed timeline in the migration plan before any work starts.

Will my store be down during the migration?

No. We build and test on a staging store and cut over with zero downtime, so customers keep shopping throughout and never see a broken store.

Can you keep my order history and customer data?

Yes. Products, variants, customers and full order history are transferred with their integrity intact — not a lossy export — so your reporting and customer accounts carry straight over.
