What is API integration?
API integration connects two or more systems so they share data automatically through their APIs — for example, your Shopify store passing orders to your accounting software. It removes manual re-keying, keeps records in sync in real time, and cuts the reconciliation errors that come from copying data by hand.
Can you connect Shopify to my ERP or accounting software?
Yes. We connect Shopify to ERPs like NetSuite, SAP and Dynamics, and to accounting tools like Xero and QuickBooks, so orders, inventory and invoices sync automatically. We map the fields, handle the edge cases, and reconcile mismatches rather than leaving them for you.
What’s the difference between real-time and scheduled sync?
Real-time sync updates the moment something changes, using webhooks — best for orders and stock. Scheduled sync batches updates at set intervals, which is fine for less time-sensitive data and gentler on API rate limits. We use whichever fits each data flow.
Do I need a custom integration or is there an app for it?
Often an App Store connector already solves it — and if so, we’ll say so. You need custom API development only when no app fits, when the right app costs more monthly than building once, or when your workflow is too specific for an off-the-shelf tool.
